Here is another little update.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to mount and tie everything down (wood related). I've figured out how I'm going to attach the speaker shelf and still be able to take it apart when needed, now I just need to figure out how to hold down the control panel box. I have an idea for the cp top so it's just a matter of finding it at a hardware store.

Here is a pic of the cp top with a rough idea of how I want the buttons laid out. What do you guys think? Do you see any potential issues?

Are you familiar w/ threaded inserts? nice for disassembly. Nice work, Itake it that is an older photo?

Yes but I have no idea where I would put them (mount them). Right now if looks like brackets are the way to go but holding power is my main concern.

Angle brackets underneath or alum angle drilled and counter sunk for flathead or oval machine screws to threaded inserts. 1/8"x 1" or thicker angle w/countersunk screws isn't bad looking if your neat about it and you work certainly is "furniture grade". Threaded inserts have a much coarser thread than normal screws and a larger diameter, greater holding power, using alum angle you can use as many as you think you need, 4-6" on center and you could lift the cabinet. When setting the inserts in the MDF if you want or feel you need more strength you can "prime" the pre-drilled hole w/ "wood hardener", Minwax sells a product to strengthen punky wood before paint that absorbs into the grain, let it dry a bit first, if it gets on the machine threads of the insert it may cause problems.

What do you mean by older photo?
Previous photos show a primed cabinet.
