Looking for more memory

I just came up on a 3500+ venice and mobo for free, while im at it i need to upgrade some ram... who makes the best deal on a 1024mb pc3200 stick? and who makes the hard drives with the longest longevity? im looking for a 200gb+ hard drive to add also because this 200 is getting topped off, would it be better to go with less but larger hard drives like 400gb+ sizes?

sorry if these are lame questions, i havnt fiddled with computers since i had to work with them.

best deal on a 1GB stick is usually at Frys/Outpost....I got 2x512 for $60 and their pretty decent OCZ gold sticks.
