I just signed up for vonage. they sent me a Linksys WRTP54G. the cable modem is in my bedroom and is hooked up to a netgear wireless router. i need the phone (that will be hooked up to the vonage/linksys router) to be located in the living room. my problem is that the vonage router needs to be connected to the netgear router i already have with a cat5 cable. i really dont want to run a cat5 cable or a phone line cable through my place from the livingroom to bedroom.

any ideas, i called linksys tech support and they're real dee-ta-dee

disable DHCP on the netgear and change the IP to something outside of the Linksys range.

I make myself laugh.

call vonage and talk to a technician... i had to do something like this with USADATANET VoIP they helped but... i'd say Jamsan did most of the work lol

I'd like caution you. I had my voip box plugged into my router... and the router doesnt care what packets get priority so if your downloading or uploading while your on the phone... your phone conversation is get very fucked up with fucked up echoing and 2second time delays... when i plugged the internet straight into my voip box then from my voip to the router, it put the VoIP packets priority be4 the rest of the internet in the household and their were no problems with the phone or quality
