Just wondering, is there anything really wrong with the following.

I bought/won sone music off of Itunes. I decided that I wanted to put together an MP3 cd as backup for my stereo if the Ipod is unavailable. Itunes will not let you make MP3s out of the music that you have purchased from there and has limited installs/burns that you can do. I decide to make an audio CD out of the said songs and then delete the AAC files from Itunes. I also deauthorize the computer. I then re-import the audio files into Itunes back into AAC files and proceed to make my MP3 cd as the protection is now gone.

I really don't see this as a "fair use" issue and everything I did was within Itunes with no 3rd party hacks or such.

Soooo ... is the RIAA gonna come bash my door down or not????

no they are not, as long as you use and audio cd-r, you should still have those rights, i asked a simmilar question and they answered on g4techtv on screensavers when it still exsisted

If they did you should tell to go fuck themselves. as far as I'm concerned, you paid for the music and it's a total farce that you aren't allowed to put it into other formats (or only a certain number of times). But then I'm not the RIAA, however I seriously doubt that they care that you converted music that you paid for, for your own use.

Short of running a website with mp3 downloads encoded from your itunes music, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Dude, are you fucking nuts? Do you think Apple is stupid? They see when you do that and put it down in their database. I hope you didn't do more than 4 songs, because past that is just insane. They immediately check their database for more info on you. Hope you used a fake name because this could be serious. Apple and the US government have come together to crack down on internet music piracy. Should have read the slasdot article. You're screwed.
