Just sell the machine to your mom for a dollar, then buy it back for two.

Kickbacks. If it's good enough for the US Gubbamint, it's good enough for us!

The PSU you chose is fine, the OEM vista is good too, you don't need the retail version, if you change hardware as often I do all it takes is a phone call. I don't think that heatsink will cut it for the quad, matched with that case it may but I think your OC will suffer. As demonize mentioned you really don't need the Corsair, it's overpriced, look for the brand names w/ lifetime warranties at a better price, corsair is not as good as the hype. Nice setup BTW,

I've always liked Corsair that is why I chose it. As far as the cooler goes. I probably won't even overclock and even if I do I only plan on bringing it up to 3ghz

All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can.

Drop the Rampage board for a P5Q Deluxe, IMO. Also, it's up to you but the x2's really aren't worth 250 more dollars for 15~ fps more.. The single card is amazing, trust me.

I'm trying to keep this thing as future proof the best I can. I also seen a lot of games I'm interested in playing at max settings

Yeah I know I said I liked Corsair but decided on Newegg.com - Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

I read better reviews

I have 2x1GB of the 1066 running in my commando and that's a 965 board, gotta love the egg reviews. It does run at 1.8 or 9 to boot in the Asus boards but likes the higher volts when OC'ing. My patriot I bought a year ago and so far no problems. You may need to install vista w/ one stick but that happens w/ any 4 gig memory. I have never used the corsair but I have a problem w/ the price, the first time I heard of G Skill it was cheap as snot and OCed beautifully, go figure.

I wouldn't worry too much about being "future proof" when it comes to CPUs. PCIE 2 is a good idea, but how many of us actually upgrade our CPU these days without upgrading the motherboard too? Back in the good old days a motherboard could be viable for 2-3 CPU generations, now it's more like 1-1.5.

yeah... any motherboard you buy now is going to last you... oh... maybe 5 months at the most. intel is coming out with a new socket B that will have 1366 pins sometime early Q1 2009 with the X58 chipset motherboard.

the cool thing with the X58 is it will let you do SLI or crossfire.

This motherboard lets you do both so maybe when I get my federal refund I'll add a 1200watt psu and do 2 4870 x2 in crossfire.
