I got a good student discount setup with my school and dell and im interested in their "acclaimed" laptops.

Im only looking to spend about $900-1000 and thats after the student discount.

Their website and ordering intuitive is VERY obtuse and very annoying as fuck because everything is jumbled together with confusing options and shit.

I chose the laptop E170 $8-900 or somthing, customized it and it came out to like $2000. I see how they get your ass. They advertise the laptop cheap like its the shit, then you customize it to your needs and it ends up costing out the ass. Any recommendations or should i just take my business elsewhere? I need a nice widescreen laptop, big hd, fast proc, decent video card, internal wireless nic, etc..

How big are you thinking? I just ordered the Dell Inspiron 9400, it has a 17" widescreen and the new Intel Duo Core CPU...
