| Dont mess with old school | So I'm trying to install windows on my friends cd rom but apparently it sucks because it wont read any discs. What are my options? I was thinking network install but he doesn't have a floppy for the laptop nor does it support pxe. I have a removable hard drive that supports laptop drives but I'm not sure how to install windows that way. |

| Member | It can be done, but I cannot remember the exact steps off the top of my head. But at the least, you will need another computer that you can use to copy the contents of the Windows install CD to the hard drive. Poke around on google a bit, there are a few people who have posted all the steps needed. |
