I'm running three windows (not tabs) and firefox is using 650MB of memory!!

I'm on ebay, tweak3d, and a review site.

Adblock, dictionary, ieview, and g filters are the only extensions installed.

What's the deal?

This is the first time it happened to me (or at least I noticed it). I've just heard about it from other people and they I read that the latest release fixed it. I guess not

Have you tried disabling your extensions one-by-one to see if that improves things. I don't think all the problems with Firefox are fixed, but I've definitely heard that some extensions can cause leaks as well.

If you have precaching turned on, this should be normal, as FF is storing the cached items in memory rather than on the HDD, so you can have the snappy response time. As long as it doesn't affect things while browsing and doing other work, I really don't care that it's footprint is that big or not.

I had the same problem, then I turned off all the extensions I was using, no more problem. Now I'm still putting them back in place, trying to see which caused it.

Normally with the extension listed I don't go above 60MB either but for some reason the other night it was way up there.
