I'm in the same boat as you. I've been looking at the brand-spankin'-new asus P5W DH Deluxe:

The price tag kinda sux though. I want to go core duo and take in all the new tech....anyone heard any pros or cons on the ATI Crossfire stuff?

Yeah, what halfey said.
As to what Hans said; I'll probably make a Conroe system and do a Nehalem-C system for the next generation build after that. Hopefully ....
it'd be so cool if Intel can start the tri-gates with that instead of the Gesher cores, if not, I may try to wait it out for the Gesher.

In a totally unrelated note:
The Nehalem area of Northwestern Oregon is God's country. We used to go swimming there alot when I was a kid. It's just out of Seaside and is named after the Nehalem River.

Copy/paste from wiki:
Intel often names CPU projects after rivers in the American West, particularly in the state of Oregon (where most of Intel's CPU projects are designed). Examples include Willamette, Deschutes, Yamhill, Tualatin, and Clackamas.

I'm hoping for price reduction by the time I build. Alot of bells and whistles
that I could probably do without. Core extreem is a must. I-975 northbridge is a must. At this time, the offerings are still kinda slim.
