I had my wireless LAN setup previously until I tried to uninstall this norton bullshit.

The next day, my internet went to shit on my new laptop

So I just spent 2 fuck'n hours trying to fiddle around with my wireless network. Turned out that the fuck'n norton fuck'n internet monky fuck'n security was the source that caused my laptop to not be able to go on the internet.

I was so fuck'n close to digging out my sledge hammer to shred my wireless router into bits and pieces

I tried un-installing it but this monky fuck'n program says it needs a "supervisor" account to uninstall it.

"supervisor account" WTF is this monky fuck'n shithole program about. I am logged in as windows xp's computer administrator and it says I need a mother fuck'n supervisor account?!?!!?!?

WTF!

HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS MOTHER FUCK'N PROGRAM!

FUCK FUCK FUCK!

You need to remove all of nortons programs, live update, norton security, and another, I think it's under the symantec name.

You may have to do it in safe mode.

This page may help:

And people wonder why I hate norton products.

Haha, I just had to laugh. And post. S'fuuuuuunnnny! So much profanity, *sigh* teehee. If Norton sucks that bad, you could probably check google for some sorta script I dunno, that would do some automatic uninstalling of the hidden Norton Antivirus crap. Call me an idiot but why must one uninstall Norton to use wireless? I'm learnenening.

It's all a Korean sob-story.

Because it interferes with everything and is so poorly designed you can't tell what part of the system it is affecting.

just a little update:

I called their 1800 tech support, and i ripped out on the guy on the phone. The guy turned out to be from india, but he was really kind, and I felt bad for being angry at him since it's not his fault that this software is a piece of shit.
They didn't even have to copy down my software license, nothing although they asked, but i just told them it came with my laptop.

So they immediately transfered me to a tech rep and he kindaly walked me through on how to uninstal this norton crap.

One of the steps involved downloading a program from teh symantic website called nrtdt or some shit like that. The download happened to be prety slow, which usually means one thing: A lot of people are probably downloading it at that very moment...

You probably downloaded symnrt.exe, I use that all the time to remove the Norton virus from peoples' computers. NIS really is a huge pile of shit and does more damage than good.

I have seen NIS completely trash Windows XP just by installing it. I have seen it disable internet connections. Oh yes, one time a customers CD drives would not show up, the solution? Uninstall Norton.

It really is a terrible piece of software, stay far away from it.

Hail "Bob"!

I remember back in the day, when Norton Utilities was a good set of tools to use. WAY back when, when they used flint-knapped keyboards in the DOStone-age. Back when QEMM was your friend for running games on a Pentium computer...
