I'm wanting to format/reinstall everything, and I got a pile of bookmarks and saved passwords in Firefox. Is there a way I can save it somewhere so I don't have to spend aaaaages jotting it all down on a piece of paper then going through them all again?

I've had a mooch through the Mozilla folder in program files to see if there's a saved bookmark folder, like you get for IE, but there's not one that I can see

Mozilla keeps its profile data in Documents and Settings/<username>/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/profiles/<random profile name>
The bookmarks are all in the bookmarks.html file in the profile dir. I don't know offhand where saved passwords are stored, but you can probably get away with copying that whole folder and putting it back in the same place once you've formatted.
