I keep getting fatal erros, and shit and I cant fix it.

it's almost always C000021a 0xc00000005 ( 0x75e93735 0x00c7dff

I also get Page fault in no paged area (or somethign to that effect) and IRQL not less or equal.

I also get frequent crashing of firefox and IE from module ntdll.dll (downloaded a fresh one, but havent overwritten the old one yet)

Not only this, but the first few tiems I start my computer, it wont POST. The machine will turn on, everything seems to check out, but it won't send any kind of signal to my monitor

It's an athlon 2600+ on XP pro SP2. I've got one stick of 512 (I've ran memtest86 on it, should be fine) 2 dvd-rws (they seem fine), and a SN live! 5.1 digital.

I've been having troubles for a while, but shit hit the fan when I upgraded from a radeon 9600 to an nvidia 7600gs.

any ideas? this is killing me. I've uninstalled both the video and sound cards several times to check for IRQ sharing problems, but dont find any conflicts now.

Check the RAM. Download memtest (or ultimate boot CD from ubcd.com).

I make myself laugh.

=p

It does sound like a memory problem, but if thats working fine, I'd suspect your chipset fucking up somehow. Does it have a HS/F on it? might want to try throwing one on there and hope its just overheating

I d/l'ed drive cleaner PE and ran it in safe mode, deleting all drivers except for onboard video (in case I have to uninstall the vid card again) and my creative drivers I would really rather not have to go through with backing up everything and starting over from scratch. I dunno where to even begin with backing up all of my music/pics etc

Just got another one while listening to some music.

Driver IRQL not less or equal

0x0000000D1

(0xF87EFAFE
0x00000002
0x00000000
0xF87FAFE)

SPTD.SYS 48745000

I looked it up and sptd is part of daemon tools, I disabled it on startup in the registry, maybe that'll help

I've gotten that kind of response from updating Sblaster drivers. It used to piss me off so bad.

okay, now I have read that a pc has up to 15 IRQ addresses it can use, correct? so should my higher IRQ's be causing a problem?

My IRQ addresses are: 0,6,4,9,13,14,15 system related stuff

IRQ16 nVidia Geforce 7600 GS

IRQ17 Creative SB Live! series

IRQ18 Realtek RTL8139 NIC card (I've read on rr.com that roadrunner is only compatable with a few IRQ's, 15 being one of them, I;m going to switch this to 15 when I restart next)

IRQ21 VIA Rev 5 or later universal host controller
IRQ21 VIA Rev 5 or later universal host controller
IRQ21 VIA Rev 5 or later universal host controller
(there are three of em)

IRQ21 Standard Enhanced PCI to USB controller

Its not so much a solution to a problem as a solution looking for a problem.

EDIT: oh yeah, on topic: don't worry about IRQs, its all done more or less behind the scenes now. If you're getting those errors a lot, you have a driver issue. You can try playing with the manual settings (in the driver properties usually), but even if that manages to stop that, chances are very good that its a sign of another problem behind the scenes.

Does your PSU have the juice to power that card?

I used to get the same problem with a nVidia card and VIA chipset, make sure that you uninstall any kind of virtual cd/virtual drive software (make sure that the drivers for the virtual drive are removed too), and you will be fine.
Some of the applications that gave me trouble were: daemon tools (rarely),clone cd,clone dvd, power iso, and probably some more.

well today I disconnected my dvd and dvdrw drive from the power supply, and I've been running just fine since. I'm beginning to think it might be a PSU issue, I'm using the stock 250w emachine piece.

(btw I took out the sound card and video card, I'm running CPU, HDD, and floppy and that's all.)
