okay so my external hard drive took a digger tonight onto a floor. about a 2 foot drop.
so i turned it off and turned it back on and now it's making a high pitched clicking sound....fiddy said i'm fucked. it has my life on it though so i don't want it to be dead. how costly is it to get info off of it?

more or less i got all my music saved by a godsend because my computer was pissing me off so i took my dad's mac and plugged my external into it to get my music to listen to and it transferred all my music onto it, but i lost all of my photos, some of which are very near to me as they don't exist anywhere else.

so if someone could help me out it would amazing.....

This is a good reason for me to continue my whole system backup. I'm so sorry that this has happened to you. Is it totally inaccessible?

yeah you're pretty fucked... you can try the freezer trick (long shot but it's worked for me a few times in odd situations) but other than that if it's really important you could send it to a data recovery center, expensive solution.
