Doom9 + AutoGK.

What about the H.264 codecs? They provide the same quality at about half the size.

I make myself laugh.

Yeah you're right Hans

But my DVD player only play divx files. Do you guys know if the more recent Blu-ray players play h264 codecs?

If not, I'm gonna need to build a media center too. I won't continue to d/l 1 gb episodes if I can get the same thing for 350 mb.

I think a PS3 wil play practically anything plus, it streams media, plays blu-rays and is cheaper than a HTPC.

The following types of files can be played under (Video).

* Memory Stick Video Format
* - MPEG-4 SP (AAC LC)
* - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile (AAC LC)
* - MPEG-2 TS(H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, AAC LC)
* MP4 file format
* - H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile (AAC LC)
* MPEG-1 (MPEG Audio Layer 2)
* MPEG-2 PS (MPEG2 Audio Layer 2, AAC LC, AC3(Dolby Digital), LPCM)
* MPEG-2 TS(MPEG2 Audio Layer 2, AC3(Dolby Digital), AAC LC)
* MPEG-2 TS(H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, AAC LC)
* AVI
* - Motion JPEG (Linear PCM)
* - Motion JPEG (μ-Law)
* AVCHD (.m2ts / .mts)
* DivX
* WMV
* - VC-1(WMA Standard V2)

Besides the PS3 that Tac posted, there's quite a few on Newegg that support H264.

Yeah, I'd go with either a console or a media center extender. Then just get an old PC, throw in some big-ass HDDs and use Linux or Windows with a program like uShare or TVersity. Alternatively, get one of those NAS servers.

HTPCs are gay!
