I'm looking for a good Data Recovery application. I've read many good reviews for multiple products, and wanted to know which ones you prefer.

I've had pretty good success with OnTrack Data Recovery Pro for NTFS.... for FAT, i've used GetData Back for FAT, and have had pretty good success with that as well. There's a version of GDB for NTFS, but it hasn't worked as well for me as Ontrack.

What will u be recovering from?

Partitions?
Recycled/Deleted Stuff?
Failed/Failing Harddrives?

"It is good that war is terrible, otherwise we would become over fond of it." - Robert E. Lee.

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."

I plan to use this to make drive images, as well as recover (like you said) partitions and deleted stuff.

I service computers and related stuff in my part time, and wanted an economical and effective way to recover data from hard drives. I'm also looking for hardware that will let me recover from SCSI, SATA, and PATA drives (nowdays I just place the failing hard drive as a slave in my system, but it won't work for SATA or SCSI).

thanks

GetDataBack sounds like what you're looking for. $79 though... Drive Image is free from this site though.

For a more limited, but FREE alternative, you might try one of these data recovery utilities instead.

I've used GDB before at my previous IT job. It worked like a charm, but I frequently had problems getting data back off of floppies that went crazy. We also had this IDE>USB adapter that we plugged messed up IDE hard drives into and it was a very easy way to get data off of a hard drive whose windows installation went bad. Look for something like that if it is available in SATA or SCSI (I don't know if it is though, but go ahead and look)

I will prefer http://www.nucleustechnologies.com/D...-Software.htmlas they recover data to maximum possible extent.

Kernel Softwares are risk free software. Kernel Softwares ofeer reasonable costs.

Best of luck

runtime's getdata back for ntfs

easy recovery sucks, i hate it.

Sandisk's RescuePro for flash drives and similar media is THE BEST. Recovered picture files off my phone from years ago, lmao..
