My younger cousin keeps asking me what video card to get for gaming but I don't know jack squat anymore. He wants to spend less than $200 and has an ASUS A8V. He also wants some RAM but I don't know how much he wants to spend on that. So what should he get? Is Newegg still the best place to buy stuff online?

Shut your mouth and think it out.

Yeah Newegg is still the best, by far.

Try:

Newegg.com - HIS Hightech H260XTQT512DDN-R Radeon HD 2600XT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail

I hear good things about the Radeon HD cards.

Nah, the A8V is an older board and will need an AGP card.

there's a XFX 7900gs for $159 after rebate.

depending on the rest of their system, if its getting on in years (and by the sounds of it it is - *sigh* like mine!) they might better of saving and upgrading, probably be better value for money that way

Binman's right.
7900's the best he's going to get for the bux.

Say goodbye to our beloved planet. Because there is
alot more money to be made in emitting greenhouse
gasses, than curtailing emissions.

Get out of the box, then recycle it.
