well i'm going to start building a new pc i think, once piece at a time. so ill start with a case. in the past i usually buy the cheapest motherfuckin case i can find. but one of the last computers i build for someone i used a nice 120$ antec and wow, what a difference. so can someone recommend one, or two. like i said i was impressed with antec but that all i know.

by the by, i dont need any fancy windows or lights or anything, preferably black, or silver.

edit: oh yea, id also like to have it come with a decent sized 12V V2.0 psu

Antec cases are damn sweet. I love 'em!
Why don't you take a look at these? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&Subcategory=7

You could always start out with something like this and get a custom PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ice=&maxPrice=).

I just bought this, it has no power supply
http://www.xpcgear.com/sk523bkbc.html
It's plain and simple, mostlly metal, good cooling, has 2- 120mm fans, Lot's of drive bays, fits ATX and it's cheap. The sell a model w/ window and in silver also. I'll make lots of mods for perfomance and function so I feel better about hacking up a cheap case. The higher quality cases I've seen charge for mods that I can do better and for less money.
I've been looking at cases for a few months and finally decided that to get ALL the features and the form factor I'm after I'll have to build my own. My thought is to make an end table type of thing. PC and drives on top, battery backup, speakers and the mass of cables in the bottom. A console sort of thing wth a glass top made of oak and aluminium. I've already started butchering old cases for drive bays and other internal hardware I'll need. Best use of a Dell I've seen yet!
Eventually the kingwin will end up in my kid's room as it is a pretty good case. I've installed a bigwater 120 kit and should have the rest put together this weekend so if your interested just yell, I'll let you know how it works.

There are so many options for cases, Newegg lists over 600 ATX mids on their site. I was checking on a couple for Kalapalo on the other thread and got sucked into 'window shopping' myself. I barely put a dent in the browsing just on that site.

i can recommend the P180. It takes while to route the cables, and you need a psu with a long MB power cables.

That second one has those damn drive rails. I've given them a try, there are pros and cons about them. Mostly cons, I'd just a s soon have a removable cage.

Geeeeze! I spent two hours just looking at cases and only saw half of what Newegg had. Back in the day, you'd only get a dozen or two choices...now 600-900 choices?

I kinda like this one:

It's prolly going to be between the P180B and this one.

I vote for the Antec P180B. Sweet ass case. I would have bought one, except I'm on a tight budget, redoing my backyard and everything.

that gigayite is a twin for my kingwin. the review on newegg is mistaken, bigwater 120 does fit inside. Very minor cut and dirill works great, temps 30 idle 40 load, I used epdm for sound absorb. I like it. Kingwin has ext sata and 1 more ext 3.5 rather than int. Kingwin also has a lockable door which at first I intended to remove but it looks good and in not at all inconvienent. I did unplug the blue retina roaster in the door though.
The front panel cables were all marked and easy to install but my front panel audio is 3" short to sound card. no prob as it is config for ac 97 and my sound card connectors are not typical layout so I need to change this anyway.

I'll probably get the gigabyte, I'd have to save up a bit longer if I were to get the p180b.
