Can i connect to my desktop from the field?

 x | when im out and about and i need to pull a file from the shared docs folder on desktop which is connected to my home network, is there a way i can connect to my desktops network folder when im not connected to the network? |

 Senior Member | yeah you can just run SFTP(secure file transfer protocol). You can download programs like that online for free. My friends use WinSCP client side windows. But we all have different SFTP program running. Last edited by demonizeZ; 08-17-2008 at 02:18 PM.. |

| x | if i use WinSCP on my desktop (windows XP) do i need a seprate client to connect to it from my new MBP? |

 Vagina Friendly Mayor | VNC, Remote Desktop Connection, FTP, VPN, take your pic. | Senior Member | I don't think WinSCP work with mac. So i looked around, it was hard to find any good SFTP client side program that is free and good. But two names that came alot was FileZilla, and Cyberduck. |
