If he can't build his own computer, he won't know the difference between Intel/AMD and NVidia/ATI. Go AMD, it's cheaper. If he's using it for photoshop, make sure there is at least a gig or ram.

Try the latest Sharky Extreme Value Gaming Guide. They build one for $1000, but that includes EVERYTHING (monitor, XP, keyboard, etc). Anywho, that would be a good start.

P180B, E6600 @ 3.6, Evga 680i, Corsair DDR2-1066 Dominator (2*1GB), Evga 8800GTX @ 650/1000, X-Fi XM, WD Raptor 150GB, WD 2500KS, Plextor 755SA, Seasonic M12 700.

Chillen with DD and the Dark Side.

the bastard knows difference between amd and stuff, but hes afraid he might plug things in diff places, etc because the first time he tried building i think he plugged in something in some sound thing for motherboard and burned out the whole thing lmao... what is sharky extreme value?

omg that's so mental, practically every plug in a computer is designed to only fit the intended connection.

"It is good that war is terrible, otherwise we would become over fond of it." - Robert E. Lee.

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
