Okay so I got a bluetooth dongle and personally I think they're crap. But I was wondering how secure bluetooth is? If there'd be a way to read peoples messages if they were in range without them knowing / having to accept a PIN etc. Its quite worrying if its hackable tbh, bluetooths everywhere.

goto www.securityfocus.com and look for bluetooth articles. There are security issues with bluetooth that have arisen (as with any technology). It is up to your provider to fix and patch the issues and you to use common sense.

Good luck.

You can have bluetooth disabled while not in use (if you use it mostly to transfer files). That'scompletely secure plus you save power. If you want it for wireless headsets an such, I dunno.

I think the problem comes from people who leave their bt device as discoverable.
