NB? You mean MB? HP/Compaq are among the most stable systems/servers available. I'd put them up against anyone's systems. Their server setups are the best .

NB as in north bridge. i was playing AA (americas army) and i started to smell a burnt smell. looked inside my tower and wisps of gray smoke were coming from under the NB heatsink. the system was never overclocked and still fairly new. compaq customer service was less than helpful saying that it was operator error blah blah.

The PC I am using now is an HP.... granted most of the innards have been upgraded...but the motherboard and processor are still the same..... I've only had problems with the cd-roms.....memory.....video.... all of which are upgraded now....so other than a little heating issue right now (2 fans died) it runs great!

Seems like HP got into the business sector pretty good too. All the Microsoft reps that I've got to talk to had them as well lol.

I'd take a Apple over HP or Dell any day.

Consumer Reports rates HP/Compaq near the bottom of the barrel.

Holy fuck, mac people are so cliquey. I was at frys this week with a friend and he was getting a Macbook Pro to do some editing on (it was the only semi-powerful machine in the store that would even run xp, imagine that) and while i was asking for the RAM upgrade in the memory department, some dude catches that it was for a Mac and starts telling me about how he's getting one as well and talking to me about it. I was almost expecting him to want to hang out or some shit. I dont understand. I'd always heard about this phenom, but the first time I ever have a mac document in my hand and it happens to me.

Not to mention the damn thing was 2ghz with 2gb of ram and was fucking $2000. That's insane! And then $700 more for just a 2" bigger screen. What is apple smoking? They arent even using proprietary hardware anymore (we were going to do the editing on it and return it after E3).

Aaaaaaaanyways, kudos to apple none the less. The ipod was probably one of the largest sales catalysts of all time.

Lenovo is it's own company that IBM has a 6-7% stake in atm. (Think Toyota's or former GM's stake in Subaru.)

You know, I just looked at that list again and it's either just updated or I'm smoking crack. The least reliable models are Apple, Dell, and Gateway, which is too funny because I've recently bought one of each!

That's a weird list, compaq is lower than HP... that just doesn't make any sense!?!? I've always hated/disliked Gateway computers, my next laptop purchase would have to be a lenovo, or this bad boy. and slap XP on it

That makes more sense, cause IBM doesn't make laptops/desktops anymore
