Anyway to install wmp codecs without installing their player

I'm finding more and more sites using windows media player 9 but I refuse to install MS's wmp 9 player.

Is there a codec I could download instead?

You can probably find codec packs that will install it. There's also this: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...nload.aspx#6.4, which I haven't tried but looks like what you want.

Yeah I found that too but for some reason when viewing video's built into websites it doesn't come out right (even after the install)..

Nevermind it's working now???.... I guess it just took a couple of minutes to update my system (I didn't nor have I rebooted).

There's definitely no windows media codecs in ffdshow, and I'm pretty the same is true for MPC.
