i installed rc1 on my laptop last night. the new changes are nice (since winxp) and im liking the new stuff they put in that will deff help people like me in IT. the down side is that my laptop is below the sys requirements so it runs a little slow...

its a 1.2ghz pentium m with 384mb of ram. im sure it would run much better with 512mb+ ram. right now it just keeps swapping to the hard drive and that makes baby jesus cry

i have been trying it at work for a day now....fair warning there are programs that just will nto work with it yet. I have a couple programs that run some old VB dll files and it freaks out and closes the program down.
That and the security warnings are driving me crazy. I know you can turn them off but then its turned off all the time and leaves open to everything which sucks. Theres no good medium and it just seems to come up all the time when you first set things up making it take a LOT longer than it really should.

i bought 2 removable drives just for this.

vista/ubuntu on one drive and my current xp pro on my main drive.

i wouldnt run it as a main os just yet, its pretty close to gold and from what ive read there wont be an rc2 it'll go straight to rtm, but through a couple interim builds in between.

im running it, i love it. i got it tweaked with my current xp knowledge, but have yet to dig deep into the registry and services, etc.

btw you can use your beta 2 key on the prerc1 and RC1 builds.

Taking into account how damn slow it ran on my notebook (Athlon64 3400+/512mb ram/geforce go 440), I don't think I want to put it back on there any time soon.
