i just installed linux feddorra in my system and did not check XP as my default OS in the boot logger step. Now i have to manually choose XP. I want my comp to automatically boot to XP instead. I tried going through the BIOS and seeing if there is a option to change the OS order, but no option exists. In the GRUB page it shows 3 options, the first 2 are fedorra and the last is "other" (which is the xp option i want my HD to automatically boot to). There are option in the grub to edit, boot, comandline these 3 OS options but since i am new at this stuff it seems all arcane to me....kinda like DOS all over again... can anybody help!

You have to edit the grub configuration file. I've never used that specifically but I am familiar with LILO. For that you edit lilo.conf. Just find the appropriate file and git 'er done.

Open the commandline, and then type in nano /boot/grub/grub.conf
Or were ever it's stored, then just move the "other" higher in the grub file than the two Fedora options.

From your Linux install, open the grub.conf file in whatever text editor you use, and at the top add a line that says
Code:
default 2
That should select the 3rd option in the list by default (it counts from 0). If it already says
Code:
default 0
, just change the 0 to a 2.
