I've never liked Norton. I use and prefer McAfee over any other AV program out there. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to go online to download the damn thing before you have any virus protection for the unsafe internet

That, the interface is weird, updating is a pain in the ass, etc..

Norton...buy off the shelf, install the CD, activate, update and voila....done.

I used to like McAfee back in the day when there was hardly any internet, but it just turned to crap.

The McAfee that I use auto-updates almost every day. The interface takes a little getting used to, but at least it's not a resource hog like norton.

I use Norton Antivires 2004 its really good but it does take up about 32MB of system RAM to run in the background. AVG free edition doesnt work good for anything it sometimes doesnt scan good.

I'm using F-Prot. Or F-Secure or whatever it's called. I think its slightly more of a resource hog than TrendMicro was (which I had before), but it's free from my ISP.

Viruses cant surive a format every 4 weeks

"It is good that war is terrible, otherwise we would become over fond of it." - Robert E. Lee.

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."

I have found in my case at least, that there is no single perfect Anti Virus program, I use AVG for free, Anti Vir for FRee and pay for Ewido, that gives me solid protection along with some excellent Anti Spyware progz and zonealarm.

And once a week I use either Panda online free scan or Trend online free scan.

That is rediculously overdone and resource retarded, but whatever.
