| Globe Trekker | Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory - Laptop Memory Coupon code: EMCAKAFAK I just ordered some, can't beat the price. I've already got 3GB in my laptop, but it's 667mhz and the timing is pretty timid. Now the only question is - how much of that 4GB will Windows Vista actually be able to use? I've heard everything from 3.5GB to "all of it". |

| Tweak Minion | Your motherboard is dependent on how much ram can be used. My Macbook has a max of 3.3 GBs... thanks for this link I'm gonna buy me some! |

| Globe Trekker | I may upgrade to Vista 64-bit at some point, but for now I'm just going to enjoy the faster RAM. |

| Senior Member | Not that i like windows especially Vista. But my notebook came with vista 64 bit. Its not as bad as i thought and very stable. May be its 4 gig of ddr3 or some thing but it runs very smooth. Ran Devil may cry 4, Assassin' Creed and Supreme commander all three ran without any problems. Hoping i can run SC2, diablo 3, Far cry 2 and Left 4 dead when they come out. |

| Titty Sprinkles | 32bit OS will see 3.25gb with one process being able to use up to 2gb. If you add "/PAE" (physical address extension)to your boot.ini file the OS will see all 4gb with the same process limit. In the server OS's you can add "/3gb" to the boot.ini also which allows any single process to use up to 3gb of memory. I don't know if this flag is available in the desktop OS's. |

| Globe Trekker | I sniffed around a little and it doesn't look like Vista allows for the "/PAE" tweak. Oh well, I see a copy of Vista 64 in my future. |

| Oilfield Trash | Vista 64 is not as bad as people say. Generally those people that talk bad about it was when it first came out and havnt used it since. Ive been using it for several months with not one issue. |

| Globe Trekker | I knew Vista 64 had truly arrived when Gateway started selling it on their desktops. |

| Globe Trekker | Ha! My Windows Experience score stayed 4.8, and the amount of system RAM reported went from 3.000GB to 3.069GB! 3DMark scores didn't change either. So I got a whopping extra 69MB of memory and no perceptible performance increase. Vista 64 here I come! |
