No, I think Hans missed Spectre's sarcasm. Or maybe I'm just stupid and my sarcasm meter was mistakenly set off.

eh another good tip is to disable vmem, restart in safemode, and defrag.

gets your shit spick and span.

btw, anyone know why even when i defrag, it doesnt defrag all the way (say disk is 15% fragmented, I run defrag, and it only knocks it down to say 8%) no bad sectors, and very few things that cant be moved.

Too many large files that it can't defrag all the way.

Defragging requires a certain amount of free space on the disk. If there's a 1 gig file that's badly fragmented, it will usually require a 1 gig block of free space for the file to be completely defragmented. If your disk is almost full, it's not very likely that there will be much contiguous free space around. Even if you have more total free space than is needed, free space gets fragmented too, so there's no guarantee you'd be able to defrag the 1 gig file even with 2 gigs of free space on the disk.

get shareaza

Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage 466MB
install OpenOffice it uses about 1/2 the space.

Firefox is 10x better than IE once you get the right extentions
If you have broadband get fasterfox
Get Adblock Plus (not Adblock, get PLUS)
AdBlock Filterset. G Updater
Tabbed Browser prefs

go to this link and get the program scanner, it will give you a graphical display of your hard drive usage. http://www.steffengerlach.de/freeware/

Don't know if this is still the case, but when I first installed it, it was because Adblock had some bugs and hadn't been updated for a while. There are probably other differences now though.
