Okay, lessee. I think this might be the best board to post my topic on. I moved to Surrey, British Columbia of the Dominion of Canada, North America, planet Earth, Milky Way only the past summer. The summer of 2005 that is. Hard to believe it was that long ago, anyways; for moving, which I've never done before (at least not consciously), I got a gaming comp (and good thing too, White Rock is quite dull in my opinion). Heck, I'm a lucky kid. Thirteen-years-old, just tell me if I ramble in some spots to improve my posts in the future. I hope this forum has an edit option, *cough cough* Just for bragging, I type fast AND have propar gramor, Jebus, bask in mae glorie. I'm sorta thinking if someone would volunteer to be my technological mentor, y'know? Mostly, I wanted to ask j00 guy5 for h3lp on how to clear hard-drive space because I used up the 40 gigs. I don't see an option to attach any images at hand, so yeah. I have MSN, Xfire (a messenging proggy for gamerz) and used to have AIM which is 7eh 5uxx0rs. D'you guys think I'm lucky? I got Battlefield 2 and StarCraft (BW), I need to download an 81.5 MB patch for Battlefield 2. *sigh* S'monstrous. I'll post summor l8eer, y'all.

Edit: Yup, my first edit. I gotta blow out da candles, eh? Anyways, my specs according to NVIDIA:

System information
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz
Operating system: Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
DirectX version: DirectX 9.0 or better

Graphics card information
Processor: Geforce 6600 GT
Videos BIOS version: 5.43.02.27
IRQ: 16
Bus: PCI Express x16
Memory: 128 MB
ForceWare version: 81.98
TV Encoder Type: NVIDIA integrated
Screen Resolutions & Refresh Rates: 1280x1024, 32 bit, 75 Hertz

Sleepy, bed now. 1:57 AM, me Mam forgot to take away me keyboard. She does that because I have a tendency to be glued until near 03:00 - 06:XX, school's at 08:20.

P.S. Extra Specs:

2x512MB RAM Sticks, Kingston. I need to learn more about RAM because I don't know which I'm s'posed to get fer me birthday. Like, 5 fans. One at the top sucking air into the case, (I only just learned about this fan now) a 15 dBA VGA Cooler (2 fans) on what I believe is the AGP card, (with the heatsink on top of it, unless that is normal) where the video cards go? 1 blowing air out from the side. I pushed the comp back to get that vent blowing free, and the last one, a fan on the motherboard. If they're supposed to be like that, I'm seriously a fan newb, though I read the article. That's 5, count 'em, 5, I SAID COUNT 'EM, fans. ASUS Motherboard... I think... Daiyang I wish I was more self-trustworthy. Also, some sorta effulging blue-light thingy with an alien face on it at the back-top. Doesn't look like Alienware, just a coincidental thingy perhaps... Yeah, hate me for all this crap information.

Edit 2: Er... I'd love to get that new hard drive but I don't think my mom would let me... Birthday's coming up and gonna buy ME some RAM! Lemme just list my proggies and how much space each one takes up cuz I can't get all the screenshots hosted... BTW, to make sure, how do you compress files?

P.S. I can't defragment completely because I don't have enough space. I can't re-install crap to delete it off the Add or Remove programs list because I don't have enough space. I'm trapping myself in a corner here! What's reformatting? What are the other drives for when nothing is done with them?!

Ad-Aware SE Personal 3.22MB
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 136MB (I want to use it but I just don't understand it and am afraid to delete it until then)
AOL Uninstaller (Choose which Products to Remove) No size signification
Battlefield 2(TM) 1,719MB (Tha hog!)
Bf2 Stunts Mod 1.52 63.15MB
BF2AutoLoader 0.61MB (This is one of the things I also needed help with. There's a bunch of crap empty proggies on my Add or Remove Programs list and I can't delete them because I deleted the files manually, not really paying attention, and I tried to redownload this one but has some screw-uppy stuff with Windows Installer I'll probably mention later in this post.)
CCleaner 1.3MB (remove only, they came out with a new version just now)
DivX Player 10.13 MB (I recently deleted DivX which was just above this, to make space thinking that I might only need the Player, please god.)
Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer 2.71MB
Google Web Accelerator 1.59MB
High Definition Audio Driver Package - KB835221 No size signification
HighMAT Extension to Microsoft Windows XP CD Writing Wizard No size signification
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4 144MB (Perhaps this is deletable? It has the Java applet logo and it was because I used to play a bit of RuneScape.)
K-Lite Codec Pack 2.49 Full 8.45MB
LimeWire 4.9.37 19.86MB
LiveReg (Symantec Corporation) 1.99MB
LiveUpdate 2.6 (Symantec Corporation 9.08MB
Macromedia Flash Player 8 No size signification
Marvell Miniport Driver 0.44MB
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 No size signification (For more information, because I am not sure if this was here when I first got the computer, try and download a copy of BF2AutoLoader and go to the Help/Support FAQ and it'll say something about Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 being mandatory.)
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886903) No size signification
Microsoft Bootvis 1.18MB
Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage 466MB
Mozilla Firefox (1.5) No size signification (Same uninstall issues with this as BF2AutoLoader. Also, I believe Internet Explorer is better.)
MSN Messenger 7.0 11.52MB (Can't delete this either.)
MSN Messenger 7.5 15.06MB
Nero 6 Ultra Edition 36.85MB
Norton AntiVirus 2003 Professional Edition 63.29MB
Norton WMI Update No size signification
PowerDVD 6.75MB
QuickTime 66.68MB
Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 1.96MB
Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4 14.05MB
StarCraft 119MB
TuneXP 1.5 No size signification (I can't uninstall this as well.)
Windows Installer 3.1 (KB893803) No size signification
Windows Media Connect 8.48MB
WinRAR archiver 2.78MB
Xfire (remove only) 8.25MB
I'm trying not to double-post, heh.

It's all a Korean sob-story.

And don't use the 1337 speak hear unless you feel like getting flamed all the time, it's old and annoying.

the leet speak is passe and spelling correctly is major (just ask "mattman", we flame the shit out of him for being "too lazy to spell right") you seem to have a pretty good handle on the spelling and grammar. this place has been growing lately but still has a core of old-school users. dont let registration dates fool you, T3D has gone through some different iterations and i've been here since june 2001, ivwshane longer than that.

anyways, just give us specific questions and we will answer them as best we can.

oh, btw if you're set on being here, stick with it. we tend to scare a lot of people away with too much introductory animosity. you seem like a straight kid, just let the negative shit slide.

Yes....very anoying. You ramble enough to turn off any avenues of help that may be available. Just be yourself and get to the point for best results. Welcome to the boards and , like stated, ignore the hard time that most newbs go through, come on in and have a good time.

First off, run CCleaner to get rid of all your cache files, then compress old files and get rid of the junk programs that aren't needed.....or, you could just make it a real gaming computer and get a 120-200 gig HHd. 40 gigs aint crap when the games are 2-7 gigs themselves.

Until now, never!before in Earth history, has mass extinction involved a choice.

Go to my computer, and right click your C drive (probably the only one you have), and go to properties. Then from there, you should see a button that says "Disk Cleanup". That'll run for a little, and then prompt you with things you can compress/get rid of. The options I would choose are Temporary Internet Files, any Microsoft Office Error Temp Report Files and Microsoft Office Installation files... If you have the latter on your system, it will save you a couple hundred megs.

The last option you can choose is to compress old files. It compresses all of your least used files (chosen by date), and compresses them so they take up less room. It'll be a little slower to access a compressed file the first time since it needs to uncompress, but its not a big deal.

Muh, my Os drive has 20Gigs used up ever since i moved my porn to another drive. So if your using 40 with one drive thats not to bad, i would recommend formatting and reinstalling the putting just the basic programs in. Firefox, Winamp, AntiVirus and AntiSpyware then go from there.

I make myself laugh.
