Just noticed the news monkey. did you install a bot to gather news and such, dan? cause thats a wicked cool idea, it just seems like its posting an awful lot heh

It's just a bot that gathers news via XML from a few sites. There won't be as much news in the future -- it's just that the bot had to catch up since it had never posted news before. I'll change its pace after a few days of testing it out.

Any possibility that you can have just post in one thread instead of creating a new one for each deal? It really makes a mess of the forums when you are looking for new posts by real members (using the "new posts" link).

Yeah I'm looking into that. For deals though real members don't really post any -- there's maybe one post per week. We'll figure something out. Right now this is really new and we're just configuring and experimenting with it. Thanks for your feedback so far.

Okay, I configured the New Posts function to exclude the news forums, so you shouldn't see those messages as new posts - now they can be filled at will without effecting other forums.

Edit - I also changed the Today's Posts option to exclude these forums automatically.
