Anyone having issues with threads being marked as new?

I noticed I was having some problems where old threads were being marked as new, and it made it confusing to tell what threads were actually recently posted. Did anyone else have these problems?

It might have been a setting I adjusted. I went from the default system, to using the database to process if threads have been viewed. Its a little change for the system, but makes it so users interactions with the site, ie what they view, is tracked more accurately. I figured people would just ignore it, I used "Mark all posts read."
