My area is on my providers lowest priority im sure, so we finally got our DSL upgraded.

2.8mbits down
741 up

is what DSL reports just gave me when it just came back up.

So, score for that. Double on both (accept really it just trippled upload since it never actually hit 350)

I wish my Comcast badassed edition still worked... I miss the ubernet, all 16mbit/s of it.

How much are you paying for this 3mbit/s internet?

comcast keeps upgrading my down speed, think you can pay a few more bucks an month now to get 8mb/down, but the upload speed is still weak as hell. Think mine is currently 6mb/384kb

I have Comcast as well, I can't remember what the speed is supposed to be but I just ran a test and got 2.7/350.

I'm still living in the 90s with my 56k, which is now at 46.6kbps down and 38.8 up. SBC DSL soon.

I wouldn't mind adsl2+

Code:
Maximum Possible Modem Speeds:

    * ADSL2+ Modem - 24000k/1000k
    * ADSL2 Modem - 12000k/1000k
    * ADSL1 Modem - 8000k/1000k (most existing ADSL modems are ADSL1 only)

I'm hoping to get on 1.5-3 down and 384-512 up for $22.

Right now I pay $25 for 1.5/384

Optimum just upgraded my line to 15/2 -- They have a new package out for a about $10-15 more a month for 30/2 ...

pretty soon, they are also upgrading to 50/50, but im sure itll cost an arm and a leg, and its not really for residential usage (but it is available for residential purchase)

I just tested mine and am getting 1.9 mbps down, is that good? A buddy who has Road Runner was telling me they were getting something nuts, like 4+ mbps down.

EDIT: Another test from a different site gave me 2.5 mbps down and .6 mbps up.

Your download speed : 1491 kbps or 186.3 KB/sec.
Your upload speed : 363 kbps or 45.4 KB/sec.

Is that any good? And is it safe to assume that I've had my DSL turned down being that I have silmuntaneously downloaded multiple files at a faster speed than 186.3 KB/sec. in the past?
