ok so a little back story here. I have clearwire but don't use it because they suck. we signed up for them in June 07. Used them for 29 days and they were great. the split second it turned midnight on the 30th day, the quality of service went to crap. it went from 1.5meg down to maybe 500k. my latency went from around 100 to about 10,000+. i would call their tech support and magically it would work great when I talked to their tech support. the second i got off the phone, it sucked again. at this point since it was the 30th day, we were locked into the god damn 2 year contract. they would not let us out of it. i got comcast 'cause i needed something I could use.

all this time, we've been paying $25 for clearwire. suddenly this month, it goes up to $37 a month. wtf, we are in a contract, how can they raise the price? isn't that the point of the contract is that it locks you both in? they say they can do whatever they want. and talk about the WORST time for them to raise it for me. god, I hate clearwire. they may be the most evil corporation of all time. wtf can I do? way back when I was just going to cancel, they said they will charge the early termination fee. obviously i can't afford their insane early termination fee so I've just been stuck paying it. but this is complete bullshit.

Often when they unexpectedly raise your price like this, places will give you 30 days to cancel with no penalties. T-Mobile did it a few years back.

Give it a try. I'm pretty sure they can't do that unless it says otherwise in the contract.

Call to cancel, contact the BBB, etc.

ya i've already talked to them. they said they can do whatever they want. this is an evil company with terrible service and customer service. check out clearwiresucks.com. it's amazing this company is still in business. i'm filing a complaint with the BBB again and looking into taking them to small claims court. this is ridiculous

Seriously, I can't fathom signing a contract for something like broadband. I want the ability to jump ship when I please, keeps the level of service up.

well, usually i wouldn't either but it was tons cheaper than the only other alternative (comcast). and like i said, it worked fine for the first 29 days. it just went to crap on the 30th day so it's obvious they give you the best service they can and then when you are locked in, they don't care and throttle you back. Their "customer service" reps are rude as hell too. they yell at you and hang up and call you names.

i've filled a complaint with the BBB but from most of what i've read, they could care less.

oh god, comcast are angels compared to clearwire. most of the time, the comcast reps have been really nice and helpful. i've only had a problem or two with them before.

Clearwire has kiosks setup all over my campus. No one is ever talking to them so I figured they sucked. You just confirmed my beliefs.
