I know you guys are tired of this but man! McCain speech was amazing! Not because it was eloquent or moving but because he basically said, "fuck you bush and the past 8 years of crap you have put this country through!", "fuck you right wing republicans who have hijacked this party for the last 8 years!".

I can't help but wonder what kind of support McCain would have got (based on polls anyway) had he ran the campaign he wanted to run as opposed to the campaign his handlers wanted him to run, I wonder where he would be sitting if he came out against the Bush admin right from the get go!

Unfortunately it's because he didn't do that from the beginning that I can't vote for him, if he is willing to let others make decisions for him (that are against his core beliefs) then who will be making the decisions once he is in office? I'm not willing to vote for some one when I don't know who is running things from behind the curtain. That's exactly what happened with Bush and I'm not willing to take a similar chance again.

Anyone else?

Just like Obama - I"ll believe the promises they make when I see them.

edit: unfortunately I've become so disgusted with both that I'm not sure who I can vote for.

I'd say what you would want to hear too if my campaign was a huge mess.

If all you are listening to is the promises you are going to be severely let down.

As would anyone voting for either candidate. Both are on pace to raise taxes to implement their goals yet all they can talk about is how they want to cut taxes (FactCheck.org: A New Stitch in a Bad Pattern, fund their bills, help whichever class they closely represent and talk shit about the other. Sounds like promises to me.

I don't see McCain's campaign as a huge mess. I'd say he still has a real shot at winning.

EDIT: Speak of the devil, this just popped in my inbox from my Aunt. I don't subscribe to any of this religious mumbo-jumbo, but this sort of thing will influence some people.

Just like Obama/Biden and McCain/Palin are mirror images of each other, so was McCain's speech a mirror image of Obama's speech. It was pretty good, even though, like Obama's speech, it exaggerated the opposing side's record, and overplayed their own.

I just wish those rich folks' sense of citizenly responsibility extended to paying down the debt with taxes they can afford, and letting the little guys get a real tax break instead of themselves.

^^ There's a lot of cuts in that video. I'd like to see the full thing. Something tells me his message was used metaphorically to explain something else and wasn't a direct bash at the bible/christianity.

Leave it to the radical christians to splice/edit a video to sound like he blasphemes god.

Oh yeah, it's bullshit propaganda. But bullshit propaganda often works pretty well.

It's been scientifically proven why negative ads work, as well as why "please don't steal the towels" signs actually INCREASE the number of towels stolen at Motel/Hotels.

Yeah, right now it's obama, who has been consistant on his stances, messages, and policies.

I've seen mccain flip flop in a week or have seen him say one thing but have someone in his camp say another.

If your message isn't clear to the people who are immediately around you then who is that message going to translate into anything "changing" once you get into the white house.
