So its my very first thread from work.

I work at Fred Hutch Cancer Research Center as an office assistant. It kind of sucks, but eh. I go from working construction to wearing kaki and polo shirts in an office, its a big change.

Anyways here I am working on a spreadsheet of which assessments go with which research grants and its pretty boring. But I'm out of my normal office so I'm in a confrence room away from my boss, which is why I'm on the forum

I'm bored...

Oh, and I got screwed out of my computer and am using a crappy P3 notebook

Now its my job to setup 16 of these beasts by the end of the month and the damn system analysts havent even made me an official image yet!!!

The trick now is finding and asking the person who could actually procure you a mouse. Within 10 feet of you there is probably one sitting in a drawer. Have you tried blowing the IT guy? I give out more hardware that way...

congrats on the new job!

anyway, i got a ibm T60 dual core today. im currently using a T42 and will eventually use the T60 as my main computer. I originally had the X41 tablet but that was slow as balls and i dont really like tablets anyway. the t60 screams with speed and the fingerprint reader is better on this then the x41t because of its positioning. i finally get to join the dual core bandwaggon!

I love working construction. Right now I'm putting log cabin siding on a doublewide mobile home 30 miles up in the mountains. I couldn't take the politics and close quarters of an office job....there'd be a killin'.......sooner or later there's be a killin'.

Yah, I kind of like working construction, I like being outside and hard physical work.
