I plan on waiting for the first service pack of Vista before I get on-board. Much less this alpha or beta shit.

I was looking for the 3d interface as well, but honestly didn't look for too long.. I installed it on a VM at work... joined it to the domain and installed office 12 on it, ha. Works well. Didn't even hiccup on the vm... felt like i was running it directly as if it were the native OS. I plan on playing with it more next week.

I think I'm gonna hold of until we get into some good release candidates. I don't think it's worthwhile right now.

Maybe if I buy a good Mac with bootcamp running it...pffft...yeah right.

If you didn't get the aero interface then it means your video cards don't support it (especially true of a vm system).

yea, i thought it was because of that.. i read it somewhere that if your cards not supported or no drivers installed, you wont get it..

the ati drivers still dont recognize with my 9800 pro. i might give it another try this weekend..

are there any tweak sites for vista? All i can come up with is that vistatweaks.com or somthing..
not too much going on there though.

Downloading it tonight. looking forward to it.

Looks a bit to "happy" and user friendly to me so that will have to be turned off :s

Yes,,,,"happy" discribes it very well. What's with all the kiddy style shit Msoft is trying to peddle? It started with the paper clip in Office and that dog in XP, now this? Must be doing 'tobaco' style marketing to kids, in a bid to assure future sales.

Definitely. Windows has just been getting more this way every edtion. Its really being pushed to parents and kids now.

Its even got a feature that allows parents to lock the pc between certain hours so kids cant use it. Thank god Windows didnt have that when I was a kid

Too bad they wouldn't make an edition for geeks that don't want all that shit. Instead they could incorporate all the power toys in it and setups for total customization. That would apeal to me more than cartooney crap designed to thrill 8 year olds and women.

its xp with a couple more features.. i got to play around with the 3d interfacing, kinda awkward to begin but it becomes quite user freindly when you start getting alot of windows open.

ehh.. this is only good if you wanna help microsoft error reporting and bug issues..
i see no other reason to have it really.. cant trust its security right now either so im not doing any personal stuff on it.

imma play with the 360 media center crap though... see how that works out..

Are you dual booting? Or just completly re-installing instead of XP?

I've thought about beta testing, but passed on the opportunity. I'm currently beta testing the IE7 and have to say, it beats the shit out of IE6. I love the tabbed browsing, don't see how I ever did without it.

i tried dapper drake, for some reason after the install my computer kept locking up, couldnt figure out why.
breezy was superb, but this release didnt fair to well with my system, so i took it off and went back to vista

ie7 sucks, i dont like the UI at all, installed firefox asap.

my friend is playing with it and getting annoyed with a bunch of stuff. Its not making me look foreward to the beta too much, but I have no choice in my industry.

I'm still waiting on the download from microsoft to be available.
