Reason #627 why I hate Wisconsin:

Harley Davidson is having their 105th anniversary celebration, somewhere around here. So for the past week I have seen an abundance of these crap machines riding around here. I wouldn't have such a problem with them, but why does everybody who owns one have to mean mug you & act like such a hardass? And is it a mandatory requirement that the girl you put on the back has to either have greasy gray spikey hair, and/or weigh in excess of 300lbs?

And they think they own the expressway so they throw a fit when you try and move over between them. I don't really see what the obsession is. They're half as fast as a Japanese bike, half as reliable, last half as long, but they waste twice as much gas, make twice as much noise, and cost twice as much to own.

I wish my hand wasn't fucked up so I could blast through them with the CBR and talk shit, "you're leaking oil all over the road!". Hahaha do they get heated about that shit.

Anyways this is my rant of the day. Anybody else feel the same way?

Harley's are overrated and the people who ride them seem to be 1) good old boys and 2) executive wannabees who want to try and look hip. You could literally buy 3-4 decent Japanese bikes for what one of those turds cost.

Agreed. Nearly every 'biker' these days is just some tool who drives a little Honda or maybe even a Benz, then thinks he's a badass because he takes the bike out of the garage three times over the summer....

man have you guys actually talked to people that ride motorcycles ??? I've found them to be really friendly. 300lb guy with tattoos and a handle bar mustache during motorcycle class just starts shooting the shit with me about bikes.

Just like any other group of people, they have their retards. Just seems that Cruisers and Quads have a MUCH higher percentage then most of the others

I don't know about the cruisers comment, it seems like the people who ride sports bikes are the biggest retards

Usually, the HD riders I know, are guys that have nothing left to proove and just enjoy the company of like minded people. The clubs in this area do alot of charity runs and have a huge toy drive at christmas. there are the execs that want to emulate those good ol' boys (and girlz) but they don't tend to pal around with the greatness of the seasoned dudes (and dudettes), they just pull thier bikes out whenever the weather is good and park it in front of the garage for images sake. They usually have a boat that is on dry land parked next to thier HD. A real biker is just an old guy with nothing left to proove, that enjoys being around his homies and doing nice things for kids and vets.
You guys are paying attention to the wrong HD folk. And Nidex, the rerason that bikes travel in packs and groups, is for safety, When you cut into a pack, you are threatening the safety of a group of guys that have mostly served frontline combat in 'Nam (and could probably defend themselves very well at any age) that take an intrusion into thier self preservation as a serious thing.

Well, I ride a Harley, never owned a Benz or a Beemer and have met many buttheads riding everything from Harleys to KTM and even riding inside cages and they all have the freedom to rant as well as the rest of us. I know I can get annoyed at some of the two wheelers running straight pipes on their bikes ( don't see a need to be so loud) along with some of the sport tuners with their fart can exhausts, occasionally I will get a little upset when the fighter jets make a low flyover, but it is all the sound of freedom for which many young folk have made the ultimate sacrifice ( not saying that I aways agreed with that conclusion though). ........ (stepping down off my soapbox now...)

the 990 is a cool bike, for sure...but 'm worried about ktoom's reliability. and since its their first "street" bike...we'll see.

also alot of the guys I know all ride cruisers, and are really nice.

alot of them are middle aged middle class guys who think harley's are gods gift to the world, but at the same time, some f them are just die hard motorcycle fans who prefer american made bikes. Cruisers are a bit of an american icon, so I understand their reasoning. I prefer the Yamaha Vstar series when it comes to cruisers though
