^ I noticed that too! Since they started to offer UPS, those FedEx prices went through the roof, and with so many UPS horror stories I've read (including yours), I'm a little apprehensive of getting anything using it....

Probably just feeling the impact from the outragous gas prices right after Katrina. If I order anytime I am still getting Fedex it always comes early.

Or they had a sweet deal with Fedex and than offered UPS and fucked it up with Fedex.

That's what I thought as well. The gas prices have come down a bit, though....

My Bender figure arrived UPS without issue. Now that I think about it I've never had problems with any of the shippers...

i'm afraid of UPS after some of the stories, and i've always had good service from FedEx. if i remember correctly, it used to be free SuperSaver shipping. then it went to like $3. just about 2 days ago i was gonna buy 3 $6.99 fans that would come out to $20.97, then shipping was around $12. i ended up not buying them. maybe the just had lower prices while they were taking a big chunk of the market and now that they have it, they can raise their prices again. beats me.

Shut your mouth and think it out.

i ordered something something from newegg this afternoon around 1pm, and went with the UPS shipping, because they generally aren't too bad from newegg to me when ive gone with UPS. so i ordered around 12 hours ago (its 1am now) and as of an hour ago, its already on the way to my local ups depot... now thats what i call service

Let me just add that my friends worked at UPS and i wouldn't trust any packages there.

I make myself laugh.

You can still pick FedEx, as I did. It's worth the extra bundle of money, to keep the gorilla's hands off my package!

We deal with UPS packages regularly, and "accordioned" boxes are quite usual, with the requisite damage inside. They may "run the tightest ship in the shipping business", but it comes at the expense of squished boxes, shoehorned into overly-tight ships!
