| Globe Trekker | My hat is off to China and Russia as they voted with us to sanction North Korea for their nuclear shenanigans... My question now is what will be the reaction from North Korea? Kim Jong has proven time and again that he's crazy and capable of anything. Remember, sanctions were going to be an "act of war"... http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapc...ons/index.html ![]() Quote:

| Senior Member | it's almost entertaining how this parallels Team America: World Police... like the article title shown in the 'top story' box being listed as "U.N. Smackdown on North Korea" being a large angry letter... practically all we need to do now is to blow up Cairo and Paris in an attempt to get terrorists... |

| Globe Trekker | If the North were to invade the South our boys in Iraq would be on planes to Asia so fast Saddams' head would spin. If you think about it that would be a perfect exit strategy in Iraq: a real world threat emerges and America must respond! As hundreds of thousands die in Asia the marginally smaller debacle in the Middle East would be a distant memory. And the real winner would be the US military industrial complex… |

| Party? Where? | Alright wiskas, you've posted enough nuke videos now back it up. Should we be seriously worried about nuclear war with this country right now, and I do mean it when I say "seriously". Like should I be stocking up on ammunition and food right now, or would that give me the title of 'paranoid'. |

| Conspiracy of One | I think they will continue to talk tough and go forward with back door diplomacy via China. They really have no where else to go. Invasion or attack of SK or Japan is suicidal and while the nut case in charge might want to, I don't think all his generals would buy into it. Wether or not China and SK want to deal with it, a refuge flood is coming one way or another. Better to take it on their own terms than letting it continue to build. |

| outside the box! | Yo Brent, what can I say? Seriously? Nukes are the ultimate fireworks display.....on my "list of things to do before I die". You seriously think you're safe in Canada? What I'm getting at, is not that there may be nuke war starting over this, but the threat of an arms race.....do you remember what an "arms race" is? That may have been before your time. Didn't they teach you about the duck-n-cover shit in school? Oh, yeah, that was before your time, I keep forgetting, you weren't around for that rather "serious" shit. |

| Tweak Minion | Remember this? ![]() It's a poster that I first saw in the seventies. It hung in my old man's bar for many years. In reality it is one of only two ways to prepare for nuclear war. The second and best is to disarm. Education. The backward countries, like North Korea, whose population learns only what its' leaders like "ping pong" allow them to learn. We need to educate the populace. I have a cousin that may have the right idea. She became a missionary and moved to Asia. I get form letters from her church soliciting donations monthly. I'd give if I got a letter from her personally but WTF, if your first cousin means no more than a name on a mailing list,,,, Brent , if you want to prepare , join the Peace Corp. generosity will do more for peace than ammunition. |

| outside the box! | Yes. I remember the drills in Kindergarten and 1st grade....then they stopped? The public was getting into a panic, and the civil defence drills stopped. Education to the ones born after '68: This is the definition of "serious" when combined with the phrase "arms race": |

| Senior Member | Excuse me if I don't pop the champaign and slap China and Russia on the back. If China didn't want them or their nuclear program to exist they/it wouldn't. They serve as a very useful distraction and test dummy for China. |

Trust me, most of the people who are going to be begging for food won't be begging, they'll be taking, and they won't be your friends. It would be in your best fucking interest to have a small cache of ammunition food and supplies hidden somewhere in your basement if nuclear war were to approach. Wiskas, I wasn't trying to insult you with that question btw, I really just want to grasp the seriousness of the situation thats all. | |

| Globe Trekker | In the event of social disorder for any reason (nuclear or biological attack, natural disaster, negro rampage, etc) I am heavily armed and my family will not be doing without. I do need to stock more canned food and water though. |

| outside the box! | I'm not gaffing you, I just take this very seriously. The M.A.D. politics and arms race take on a life of their own and, as in bad relationships, are much easier to get into, than out of. The amount of 'out-of-control' politics in the world today are a fertile ground for dissasterous consequences. I'm confident in your awareness as you seem to be well keyed into the facts and/or the ability to obtain and assertain the facts. We may already be past the 'point of no return'. IMO: The 'point of no return' was breeched on 9-11-01. It's like a car being pushed over the top of a hill that has no brakes.....it's got to either crash and burn, or roll untill the wheels fall off. The world didn't magically get less paranoid with the end of the cold war, the arms race has continued in secret....there's a few more dangerous players now and the focus of the paranoia is shifted, or has been diverted to the middle east. Nothing changes if nothing changes. it's not paranoia when they really are out to get you Awareness of the facts and reality/gravity of the situation doesn't mean to live in paranoid anxiety. It means that the trueths may shed light on the lies and awareness may be the difference between many millions loosing their lives and total extinction of our species. I'm confident that there will be a nuclear detonation in a populated area of the USA or EU in the near future, the only question: is it going to be a relatively small blast (kilotonnage) or in the megatonnage range? Given the way things are today......that would be the same as throwing a lit stick of dynomite into a fireworks factory. There's not much else in existence more dangerouse than a culture of suicidal bombers with a backpack full of nuke. Last edited by mistawiskas; 10-15-2006 at 10:56 AM.. |
