I noticed a few of you have dads that are in the trades. Todays generation of tradesmen, won't be able to afford what your dads did for you. No college educations, no happy homes, no leg up in society. that is how much things have changed in one generation. My parents are retired or dead. my dad was a millwright at a plywood mill and my mom was a cake decorator. My biological dad was a baker and kitchen manager for fish camps in alaska. he's now a full time jesus freak. |

My parents spend all their time trying to make each other completely miserable. As for work, my mom does Acrylic Nails. My dad works for Smith's Food and Drug (owned by kroger now) and works in the meat/deli warehouse as an inspector. He also works as a handyman, fixing everything from leaky faucets, to building decks. |

my mom is the assistant superintendent of a school district and does all the hiring, writes all the grants, and writes all the curriculum for the district. before she did this she was a remedial reading teacher at the high school in the district and was a reading consultant for k-8 (she's my hero) my dad is a retired teacher - he taught language arts (grades 5-8 ) and science (grades 7-8 ) and today they celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. it's so rare this day and age to have parents married for so long that i'm really proud of them. they really have worked through their problems and stuck by each other through thick and thin. |

My mother is a paraprofessional @ a local elementary school. She works in the library now, but has been known to work with slow children as well. My dad worked for my city's Highway and Bridges Dept. He was one of those guys who plowed roads during snowstorms, cleaned catch basins, did street work, and shit like that. He fucked his back up pretty badly at work like 6-7 years ago, and unable to fully recover, was subsequently forced to retire. |
