I have some old skate shoes at the moment and they don't work so well... I'm not sitting on my ass all day anymore so I need something comfy.

I quality pair of gym / running shoes I think would suit well. Those skate shoes are generally pretty thin at the sole for flexibility, and not very supportive.

They look dumb but I have a pair of New Balance running shoes that I wear at the gym that are really comfy and give good support.

I have a good pair of steel-toed shoes that has a slightly better-than-usual padded sole. They're great for my everyday work shoes, and you get a bit better of a workout when you jog in them because they're that much heavier.

Until you get used to being on your feet for so long, no shoe will help.

Yes...they are. My wife just picked up a pair of croc knock-offs for my son that light up when he walks.

I hate the looks of them and they're not real shoes, as far as I'm concerned. But my mom, who is a nurse and on her feet all the time, swears by them.

whats with all the croc hate? I don't own a pair but they sound like some pretty damn good shoes from the picture posted above with all the points made on how awesome it is.

Do you stand in a few places, or are you moving around all the time?

Because if you have a few places you find yourself alot, there are those rubber floor mats checkout clerks and other people who stand in one spot for a while use.

Iskream's

Gamercard

They actually started to make crocs that look like shoes and not weird rubber shoes for retarded kids.

I still wouldn't wear them, but at least people would just go "man those shoes are ugly" instead of "what in the hell are you wearing?"

Pumas with some sort of orthopedic insole.

God I love Puma.. Very light, ventilated, comfy. And they all look amazing.

gel inserts are amazing things.

i wear steel toe boats 13 hours a day at work and run around like a chicken with its head cut off so it takes a toll on my feet. the only thing that helps are gel inserts.

it's a mirror. i have a few pairs that i can be in all day with no big problems and a few pairs that i'll only wear if i know i'll be sitting the majority of the time i'm on my feet.

i'm a big fan of cross-trainers for day to day wear, or if its too cold to have heels on.

I pretty much always wear boots. Just a result of being raised in a garage environment, I guess. My latest boots are Doc Marten Engineers boots:
NEW Dr. Doc Martens 2295 Black ENGINEER BOOTS UK 8 US 9 - eBay (item 180231512459 end time May-08-08 09:40:17 PDT)

Very comfortable, look great, durable, steel toe, and ANSI certified so I can wear 'em in the shipyard. Perfect for what I needed.
