| Saint, Church of Ryanism | Yesterday we took another trip to NYC with a few friends of ours. The husband lived in the Bronx his entire life before he joined the Navy, so he knew NYC very well. Anyway, we drove down 5th avenue down to about 36th street and parked. Then we took a subway to near Ground Zero. That's a severely depressing place, when you see how huge the twin towers used to be. We seen the rubble which is still being cleaned up (you could still see debris in the dirt piles where the buildings used to stand). It was really incredible to even fathom how awesome these buildings were. We also got to see the nearby buildings (including the nearest building that is still standing after the buildings went down). Even more eerie was that the husband's cousin died as a fire fighter when the event happened. He was one of the first responders, and died when the second plain hit. His name is even on the memorial made for those who died. It was definately an emotional place, with an almost scary silence. Noone really talked, and there was very little noise for 3-4 blocks around. It was really an experience... Here are a few pics: ![]() A pic of where the World Trade Centers used to stand. You can see the huge void in the skyline. It was honestly the only place where you could see the sun in like 15-20 blocks ![]() Here's a pic of the memorial, with the name of the guy. His name was Thomas G. Schoales. That was what really made the event hit home... The only thing I ended up with while in NYC was another watch. A peddler confronted me asking if anyone wanted a Rolex Watch. I asked what he had, and he pulled out a briefcase with 20-25 watches in it. I found one I liked and asked what he wanted for it. He first told me $45. I said I only had $15 I could give for it. He then moaned around, and said No. I picked up the watch, and looked at it for a few minutes, then put it back. He then asked if I would pay $15 for it, to which I responded "No, that was my offer then. I'll only pay $10 for it now." He then told me (quickly) alright, I'll take that. Then I paid him with a $20 and demanded change. Here's a pic of the watch (a fake Tag Heuer):![]() I love visiting New York City.... Sorry for the pic size, as I don't have time to resize them smaller..... ~Will Courtier~ |

| All I see is a black hole, and sooner or later they’re going to suck each one of us into it. But when they come for me, I'm going to take as many of them with me as I can. | |

| Saint, Church of Ryanism | Yeah, we seen them, but didn't listen to them... Their web site is www.911truth.org . They think that 911 was done by our own government... I tried to ignore them while we were there... Their views were really out there... |

| Saint, Church of Ryanism | Oh, I see.... I still don't believe that, based on what I've seen since I've jonied the Navy on the war on terrorism... I dunno, though... Maybe I've been trained with a little bias ~Will Courtier~ |

| Globe Trekker | It's bullshit. It's not that I don't think our government would do such a thing, I just don't think they could organize it and keep it a secret. |

| Titty Sprinkles | I love how on one hand people say Bush is an idiot, his administration is full of morons, etc, but somehow they were able to pull off this massive cover-up of a goverment conspiracy so large it makes the Gulf of Tonkin incident look like nothing at all. It's either he's a moron OR an evil genius. Can't be both. |

Also I just mean it has a nice slick feel using the side scroll.. push to the side no extra clicking. I always thought it would be a useless feature on a mouse but I quite like it. | ||
