Alright,

I ordered something last night from an online surfshop located in New Jersey (where I am ) through 3-Day Select UPS, and I got the tracking email today from "QuantumView", which I guess is UPS's email system.

Now, the e-mail says Scheduled Delivery: 12-July-2006, but when I actually punch the tracking number in on their site, it says Scheduled Delivery: 14-July-2006.. Can my package still come tomorrow or will they dick around with it for the full 3 days?

Weird question I know, but I'm in a rush to get this.

-Chris

Yes it can come tommorrow, if they actually have it. watch the tracking. When it says out for delivery it's on the truck otherwise it will be in a humongus container in the warehouse.

UPS has never delivered anything I've ordered early, if anything they're always late. Good luck.

chances are its gonna be held at the closest city to you before finally sending to your city to get shipped out to you. This is just standard priority shipping methods. If your lucky, you'll get it before its scheduled.
freight that gets to the city too early is usually put aside for manpower to the other freight thats in desperate need of arriving on time.. kinda hard to explain, speaking of work, i gotta leave now.. yay.

another possibility is thatwthey would have shipped it down to florida, then back up to you for no apparent reason.

it happens sometimes...

edit: wait, if it's in your city why would you bother paying for shipping?

I work at Kinkos, but The FedEx drivers have told me if they have a 3-day or 2 day shipment they will sometimes deliver it early. Say there's an apartment complex and the driver notices he has 5 or 6 packages to deliver there. Then he notices there's a 2 day going to the same place. He'll typically pick it up and deliver it early to save some time. On the other hand, if it's a 2-day but it's at the station and there's no other deliveries in that area, he's not going to waste his time taking one package up there when it doesn't need to be delivered by then. So yeah, I guess it helps to have a house that's not out of the way and where other deliveries typically occur.

Yeah, Fedex FTW over UPS,.....and USPS is totally out of the question. Anyone get anything all smashed up by USPS?.....Fiddy? How does DHL stack up? I've not used them yet.
