...that I've been watching this stuff on TV about New Orleans and want to buy an AK-47 and stock up on ammo?

You can bet you ass that the guys with guns and their familys haven't gone hungry...

my cousin stopped by my house and said that neighbors in my neighborhood stopped her and asked her what she was doing there. She told them she was my cousin and she was just checking out the house for her uncle. Some of my neighbors I'm sure have guns, but then again, my area/suburb is locked down and secure (w/ the exeptions of reports of random looting, but nothing chaotic like after the initial wave in New Orleans).

And yes, this whole ordeal hit home (literally) and made me want to invest in a gun.

edit: clarification on the neigbhors being there: apparently some people went back to Kenner by going through highways that didn't have checkpoints. In fact, a friend told my father to take the back way in instead of the interstates to avoid the checkpoints.

i think martial law should be declared there.

Any one caught looting will be arrested.
Any one caught looting with a gun will be shot on site.

I don't mind the looting for food and other essentials. Hell, I'd be looting for that stuff if I needed it. But these fuckers stealing Nikes and TVs need to die. Their fucking neighbors need them, and they're stealing stupid shit.

But yeah, this is the reason that I have a case on ammo in my house.
