This commercial puts me in a good mood everytime. And that song is so catchy that I bought it on Itunes. Good stuff.

I saw the commercial the other day and thought "Cheap Beatle". Are they built on the same platform?

Not at all, the closest thing would be the Golf. They're nice little cars actually, the new 2.5 Inline 5 is a strong motor.

Not that it's at all relevant but they're in Kill Bill Vol. 1 playing that song at Lucy Lui's house thing. Fuckin wierd band. Japanese Female Surf.

Yah - I knew I heard it somewhere else other than the Vonage commercials........

when i saw it, i thought... hmm, they're re-releasing the rabbit.

because, you know, this isn't a new line. Rabbits are old. Older than I am anyways.

I was thinking the same thing. The first one I saw was 1977.

They have a big cult following though. There are SCCA race leagues dedicated to Rabbits three wheelin' around the track.

Yeah, I believe they stopped production on Rabbits in 1984. And people do race them and shit, it really helps that they only weigh 1500lbs or so. People on the VW forum I go on have swapped 1.8T's in them, making them very quick.

They were a good car, OK power and good on fuel consumption. Just a basic car, like the geo metro. I hope the new ones can live up to the legacy.
