When was the last time you had a bruise? It's sorta a weird question, but I haven't had one since as long as I can remember. For sure not in the last five years, since I've started keeping track. And I've had plenty of falls and blunt traumas, but they never result in a bruise. Any theories as to why?

No sure exactly why, but by definition Bruise: breaking of fragile capillaries in the skin. Also easy bruising can run in families. The layer of fat under the skin what protects the capillaries from bruising. Personally i have gotten alot of bruises lol probably because of 0% body fat. But its hard to see because of Skin color may be you same way. Or you haven't taken huge damage where you get left with bruises. Also muscular body tends to take less bruising then skinnier body.

I bruise, but its a given in my line of work. I should have taken a picture of it, but I had like a 5x5" bruise covering my entire elbow, I mean the whole thing was turning colors. I still don't know how I got it though, and it never hurt...

I guess it's either my workout or diet, as I never bruise. I've recently fallen and cracked my arm pretty hard, to the point I was amazed the arm didn't break. Still no bruise.

I'd wager it's your workout strengthening the capillaries that burst when you get a bruise. I used to bruise like a peach whenever I got hit but for the last few months I haven't been, go figure.

In the past 3 years I've only gotten 2 bruises. The first was when I got hit in the leg by a 250 lb piece of steel that slammed into my leg. The last one was about 3 weeks ago after shooting 1 full box of .243 ammo. That gun kicks damn hard for it's size.

I rarely bruise..... even as a kid...but then I was in shape and now...well I could double for Fat Bastard....

Either way it took something VERY bad to do it...like when I fell 10 feet and hit a tree branch then fell another 10 feet landing flat on my back knocking me out completely....which was good so I didn't notice my bike landing on me..... ahhhhhhh, the good old days.... surprisingly no broken bones...but I did dislocate my jaw and lost a tooth...

Oh fuck. I've broken quite a few bones but I can't imagine what a dislocated jaw would be like.

Extremely painful to say the least..... the best part that even though it popped out of the socket I didn't tear anything...so they had to pop it back in then wire my jaw shut for a few weeks....so everything could "relax" back to its normal state..then therapy....

Looking back I was glad for all that extra crap....I couldn't imagine having a broken jawbone...or having the muscles/tendons and whatnot tear off.... that would be much worse...

I actually can report back on that. I can stand at the firing range for hours firing shotguns, my SKS, etc... no bruising. I can understand not getting many bruises, or only small bruises, but I literally get zero. Kinda freaky.

I think I know the reason, or maybe more so the problem... your a software engineer or some shit and your married. the most excitement in your life is the few moments leading up to the choice of whether to wear the cornflower blue tie you usually wear on Tuesdays, or the new novelty tie your wife bought you for your birthday. Yea you may trip and fall, stub your toe and yell our "DARN" to shelter the children from the language they probably already know, but that just isn't going to cut it man!

me on the other hand, I work construction, i play rugby and I'm single, and i get belligerently drunk at least once a week. i get bruises all the time!

Solution, spend some more time drinking, drunks always get hurt, and on the plus side, when it happens you can't even feel it. Take up a sport, preferably a full contact sport, rugby, football, boxing, mixed matial arts. yea you can play softball or volleyball or something, but in the end your still just a drunk pussy. try running out in front of cars, i've never seen a brotha get smacked by a car and walk away with no bruises.

haha, just playin with you man!

I get into wrestling matches with my teenager all the time, and she fights dirty. Plus I'm always hauling electronic equipment around factories, cracking my shins, banging elbows, etc. Last summer I broke my nose doing a "giant stride" entry into the water from a scuba boat, and amazingly my face didn't bruise at all.
