The power went out for two hours at my place tonight. Bad weather, tornado warnings, etc. I have to say it was pretty refreshing. I fired up a bunch of candles, powered on my laptop for music, and checked the satellite radio for storm warnings. And then I watched the baby and the cat chase the laser pointer. Pretty funny that my "low-tech" evening involved a laptop, MP3s, satellite radio, and lasers, but it was still relaxing and quiet compared to a normal evening.

Try going a week without power!

I was going insane using my booklight as a means of walking around my house. Sweating like crazy when going to sleep. Taking a freezing cold shower.

So not fun...

We had a storm come by earlier that could very well have knocked out power. It didn't, however. Oh well. I prefer having the AC when it's still 70 out.

Whee! The windy storm is ushering in a hard freeze tonight for us. Fortunately, the tornados were all North and West of us. We just got rain and 45 mph windgusts. Which I got to drive in. Yay.

I want it to get cold so these damn birds that hang out in this gigantic tree hanging over my driveway in the alley migrate south and stop shitting all over my car. I have to wash her every other day only to have it covered in shit the next morning.

The store where the wife works had the power go out the other night so she came home an hour early and busted me cruisin' the NSFW forum....shit.

I live in the city where there are 1 hour parking signs on every street all around me for like 30 blocks. Parking permits are $80 and are limited to just my street =( I live in hte middle of a city university campus.

I just spent 3 months in the woods. It was nice.

Man, I couldn't stand having to go to college in the middle of a city.
