Trailer For Mel Gibson's New Movie, APOCALYPTO

Looks very very interesting. I dont know what has happened to Mel, but he is starting to go off the deep end. None the less, the movie looks amazing when viewed in the HD trailers. Can anyone even figure out what the movie will be about just from the trailer?

I have high hopes for this movie, as I've been to many Mayan cities and am fascinated with the culture and their mysterious demise. When you stand atop a giant pyramid in the middle of jungle and nowhere it really makes you think about our civilization and what might happen to us...

i just read somewhere that there is no english in it. Thats kind of a turn off for me.

Subtitles are a pain to read, but I think it adds more depth to a flick when the characters are speaking in their native language.

I despise serious movies where people speak English even though they are in a different country and period of time, like Gladiator. If the movie is going to be set in Mexico, get a bunch of Mexican actors (instead of, say, Cubans or Puerto Ricans) who speak Spanish to play the parts, and let the movie be subtitled. The whole "subtitles are distracting" thing is bullshit when you think about it.

BTW, IDK WTF "Apocalypto" means, but it certainly doesn't mean apocalypse in Spanish, AFAIK.

The Passion of the Christ - ok was a big hit but by no mean was it a good movie.

I said the movie looked very interesting, did not like the fact it's going to have subtitle, but thats what you will get when the movie takes place in Mexico and Central America.
