I am looking for every ones general opinion on this. I have a guy who is willing to trade his 2006 Husqvarna SM450R for my scout. I've grown pretty tired of my scout since I have not driven it in almost 2 years, plus all of my friends who I would ride with have moved away. There is no where close to me that I can go and really use it, so I have to drive several hours for even moderate trails to ride. I still need to get drive shafts for it as well as finish up some sheet metal work and mount the upper harnesses to the cage. I know several people with motorcycles around that I can go ride with. There is a local shop that rents out a real race track (not a strait one ) around once a month that I could go have fun on as well as some very rural areas to go play. I imagine every one is somewhat familiar with what I have done to my scout over the past 4 years, so here are some specs on that bike.

Quote:
2006 Husqvarna 450SMR
~2200KM (dash is in metric for some reason)
-Just checked/adjusted valves, changed coolant, cleaned all filters etc. (i'm a motorcycle tech by trade, so it has been cared for)
-Full Ti akroprovic pipe
-Surflex slipper (about 4 hours on slipper, also have stock, and different springs for slipper so you can change how it slips)
-Programmable Vortex Ignition
-Pro Taper pro bend bars
-CRG brake and clutch levers
-Cycra hand guards (full aluminum, not cheap plastic)
-Pro Circuit Ti Wide foot pegs
-All 3 filters are Scotts Stainless (just wash with brake clean and air, trap smaller particles than paper)
-SME axel sliders
-SME catchcan
Prob more that i am forgetting, i'll try to get you some good pics this weekend. Bike is located in Maryland, but if we work something out, i would bring the bike and pick up the truck.
I was trying to sell the bike for 6K, but i don't expect any cash from you, maybe if we can work something out, i would just ask that the truck be in running condition (i.e. finish driveshafts and wiring). I'm gonna think this over....but i'll let you know soon (like by the end of the weekend).

Here are the pictures

What do you all think? I am torn on this.

I'd go for it. The scout is sweet, but it seems like more hassle than it's worth

What's the general worth of each?

Shut your mouth and think it out.

you put alot of work into the scout, i would say keep the scout and keep upgrading it...

it just depends on you, if youre tired of the scout and feel like its been upgraded enough to warrent getting rid of.. i know people get tired of their projects and just get rid of em.. are you like that?

The bike is $5k-$6k. The scout is more of what I can get for it. I don't have a problem getting people interested in buying it in the $5k-$5.5k range though.

Its not so much that I am tired of the scout. I would definately love to drive it around because its so unique, but I was a little impractical when I built it thinking I would be able to take weekend trips with to places several hours away.

Let me just say, i've gone for far more pleasant rides on my dual sport, than i ever did in my old clunky blazer.

But also, i miss the hell out of the rugged truck.

both are pretty impractical toys, Take that one that you'll get the most enjoyment with. from the sounds of it is the bike, Just make sure you don't regret trading the scout. You don't know how much you're going to miss something until its gone, especially something you've invested you're blood and sweat into

and if you sell it to someone nearby, you'll be seeing it everyday.
almost like... losing your girlfreind to a close freind

or selling your car to a freind around the corner, only to see it months later stripped or wrecked
and you gotta see it all the time.

think about it man.

Care to explain why? I mean, don't put yourself out or anything. You've already contributed so much!

P.S. You do know this is a street bike, not a dual sport. Do a search for supermoto.
