Who here has owned, or owns a couple of TI Calculators?
Who here plays games and apps on these calculators?
Who has actually programmed and created games, apps on these calculators?

I can attest to all three.. I revisted ticalc.org and memories just whooshed right through my head.. The website layout is still the same, and to this day still holds ground as being one of my personal favorite layouts ever.. Simple and clean.

I was a hardcore ti-geek back in the aol 2.x-3.x days and ticalc was holy to me. I see a couple of guys that used to just frequent and post in the boards are now running the place. Its good to see the scene is still alive and kicking.
I used to be pretty fluent with BASIC and dabbled in asm a bit, but never could grasp asm because of the limited tutorials and binary/hex. Now that i understand binary and hex, i wonder if i could give it one more try..

I think i sold my ti89 to ivwshane... I want it back! :P
No but seriously, i wish i could get back into it but i just dont have the time.. Anyone have used ti calcs for sale??

Has anyone been keeping up? Its amazing what they are doing these days with these calculators.. A Gameboy emulator on a ti-89, a ti calc emulator on an 83+, a friggin beatbox for the 82!

my friend and I programmed a Blackjack game, and drew pictures and stuff. It was cool, but I mostly programmed for classes (distance formula, chemistry stuff, maximization of areas, etc.)

When I was in high school we couldn't use formulas on tests. The teacher would walk around and clear everyones calcs, or you could do it and just keep the screen that said it was cleared. My friend made a program to make it look like it was cleared..

That is all.

TI83s were big in highschool for gaming. I went to an all guys prep highschool and I would say about half of which would play games on their calcs and some making their own. I had a variety of games, but kinda pushed away from it junior and senior year. I know people who went to public highschool and it seemed like there were a good amount of guys playing games on their TI83s. Phoenix, Tetris, Uncle Worm, Zelda, and Falldown were some of my favorites.

It wasn't me torx.

I did have a ti82 and I was big into programing it! I made a side scrolling shooter once complete with intro, death scene and an ending. I aslo did black jack, dice, and even a fortune telling program.

I did this all with no help or modifiying of existing code (this was before the days of the internet as we know it).

If real programming was that easy I'd probably still be doing it

I also used my 83 to keep notes/formulas for statistics tests. on for each chapter along with all the necessary games and precalc formulas

i coulda swore it was you, lol, oh well.. its long gone now..

yea, nibbles, tetris, drugwars were popular back in my day..
then along came the asm games, zelda, tetris, falldown, etc.. fun days.

then, ya, like tassia, i got smart and created a txt input app to where i could store cheat notes and stuff... My english 4 teacher thought i was weird pulling out a calculator to take her tests... lmao.. she knew what i was up to but didnt say anything..
