I have a friend who has a problem with lieing. And by that, I mean that we found out a little while ago that she may be a compulsive liar. We caught her on a bunch of stuff, and since we were pretty good friends with her then, we believed her when she said that none of it was true, and the person that told us all that stuff made it up.

Well, she claims that this guy is her best friend and has been since 3rd grade. Although, nobody has ever seen this guy in person, he has never called her(we'll call 'her' X for now) when she's around us, but he always seems to call when she's alone.

Anyways, yesterday my girlfriend was on my computer(her and X are good friends), and she put an away message up saying "on the phone to the most amazing person alive". When she came back, my girlfriend asked her who she was talking to, and she said Travis. I pushed my girlfriend out of the way and sent her an IM back that said "he doesn't even exist."

Now, X immediately got all defensive and said "excuse me? Fuck you, if you're gonna be a dick like that don't even bother talking to me." Why would she get so defensive about something like that? For instance, if somebody told me that say, Nothing wasn't real, I'd say "uh, ok, well I know him so whatever".

If you look at the guys pictures on his Myspace, you can't see his face in any of them. Except for one, and it's "his" face, behind a bunch of clouds. Well, my girlfriend also told me she was watching MTV and a video came on by The Used, called "Box Full of Sharp Objects", and that exact same picture is in the music video.

We looked into it farther, and the E-mail address on the Myspace account comes back to X. I noticed that "he" set the profile as private now, but before it said he was 19 and lived in our town. I asked X what school he graduated from, and she told me "New Berlin". I asked what school and she said "New Berlin High School". I didn't say anything, but there's no New Berlin High School, New Berlin has Eisenhower High and New Berlin West.

To make it worse, there's a girl that X is friends with in real life, and this girl believes that this guy is real and I guess really likes him because they talk over Myspace. But everytime they're supposed to meet, something "happens". This guy supposedly dirtbikes/BMX/skateboards etc, and everytime he's supposed to meet her, he breaks a bone.

The only people that comment him are X, the girl that likes him(which is pretty sad), and his girlfriend that "cheated on him". Sad thing is, is that her Myspace is made up too, and she also does not exist.

Also I've been watching it for some time, and whenever X isn't on Myspace for a couple days, neither is he. And when she is on, he is too. This is pretty sad I think. It makes it even worse that everybody called her and laughed at her for it, but she still won't admit it.[/url]

Sticking to the 'story' until the bitter end is she? It is sad. Make believe is a strong drug to some. Living in a fantasy world alway comes up behind a person and bites them in the ass....always. Don't be surprised if she fakes a nervous breakdown when the shit finally hits the fan.

I have a compulsive liar friend but all of us just flat out tell him he's lying when he claims certain things. The guy is a legitimate millionaire as I have seen proof and his parents pay me $50/hr to do oddjobs around their house but when it comes to the smallest, unimportant things he'll lie about it. It's strange when people feel the need to lie like that to impress people when they're already your friends.

Sounds like she doesn't want any of you to know that she can't pick up a decent guy for a relationship. All of her other friends have one, so she made one up.

I would personally ask her when your with her, and of course after you bring up the fact that he's not real if you can talk to him. Tell her that you'll leave it completley alone if you can talk to him in person right then right now.
You can also mention that everyone here is thinking the same thing, and it would be best to figure out what is going on now.

That's not going to happen, I sent her a text message saying "so what's up?" and she responded with "fuck you, lose my number, I don't want to talk to you".

Yeah, she has a problem with lieing. She also claims she is going to be 18 in a few days, and one of her friends told us that she saw her birth certificate, and she is only 16. So, our plan was to send her in to buy cigarettes, or go to the porn shop and see if she can get in once her birthday rolls around.

lol, you need to expose her ass so there is no undeniable fact that she is lying, but at the same time tell her that you all don't care, you just want her to tell the truth. No one has a perfect exciting life, and it seems thats what she wants to mimic.
